Good, but I expected more...

I’ve been using the Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil for about two weeks now, and I have mixed feelings. The biggest positive is that it’s not greasy at all. It absorbs nicely and doesn’t weigh my hair down, which I really like. It does make my hair look shinier and smoother, but I noticed that happening when I style my hair with hot tools and not immediately after application. I’ve used other oils that instantly change the texture of my hair and make my ends feel noticeably softer right away. With this one, the effect feels more subtle. For the price, I expected something a little more transformative. It’s not a bad product, but I personally don’t think it’s worth the price tag compared to other oils that deliver stronger results.

A pump, or even half a pump for fine hair, melts right in and leaves hair glossy, smooth, and touchably soft. It gives instant shine without greasiness, tames frizz beautifully, makes dry ends look revived, adds heat protection, and a little truly goes a long way. It works perfectly on damp hair before blow drying or on dry hair for a polished finish. My ends look healthier, my hair feels softer, and it gives that effortless I woke up like this glow even when I absolutely did not.
