on the tester strip this smelled like vanilla extract, but on me personally it smells like vanilla milk. nice, light, subtly sweet milky vanilla. but this doesn't last very long which i was surprised because i have another replica fragrance that lasts super long, but every fragrance is different so im not too surprised.

My new favorite

Either the batches have possibly changed, or the people leaving negative reviews had an expectations of a much richer candied sweet vanilla smell. This smells like a true vanilla extract, with a warm after scent like baked cakes and breads. Very subtle. I have loved this brand for many years, and have not been able to seem to find one I like as much. This is a new favorite. My other favorites are, By the Fireplace, Beach Walk, and Jazz Club. I also like Lazy Sunday Morning, but I wear that one less. I wear the scents with different seasons, generally. I think this one will be the first year round scent I will have. I am a fan of cooking and baking, so the fact it smells like real extract to me appealed to me and it is still clean smelling, never overpowering.

You WON’T be disappointed!!!

This fragrance will not disappoint you. I saw reviews that stated that this fragrance had an alcohol-like smell when first sprayed and I can assure you that it DOES NOT!! My first impression is that it feels like you’re out for breakfast and you order a delicious vanilla almond pastry. I was shocked by the creamy vanilla scent that filled the air on the first spray! It has become a favorite of mine in my collection.

Smells Delightful

This Eau de Toilette smells just like an afternoon sweet and cinnamony snack, like a pastry or a latte imitating a pastry flavor. I like it a lot. The reason I took off a star is that it is very subtle. I personally like a bolder, and louder perfumes with nuclear projection. But, if you are someone who inclines towards lighter, and more subtle scents or if you work at a place where wearing perfume is frowned upon, then I think you should love this one.

A must have for perfume collection

You have to wait about 30minuted to an hour for the product to marinate on your skin so you can really smell the creamy vanilla scent!

Beautiful but doesn't last

If you like vanilla, this is for you because it smells like straight vanilla! When you first spray it, it's warm and sweet but it dissipates quickly. I can get a bit of sweetness but it takes a lot to smell it after even 15 minutes. Within 2 hours, it's gone. So yes on scent, but no on projection and longevity. As a result, I use it as a nighttime scent.

PSA Vanilla Lovers

This is so amazing. It smells like vanilla extract in a perfume bottle. I've seen reviews of an odd smell, but my bottle as well as my sisters smells more than divine. I normally am not crazy about vanilla scents but this is slowly converting me. My man always says I smell delicious :)

This is a beautiful scent — it smells luxurious and has that signature Maison Margiela quality that lasts all day. The blend is soft, sophisticated, and definitely unique. Even though it’s not my personal favorite scent from the collection, I can still appreciate how well-balanced and high-quality it is. If you enjoy subtle, elegant fragrances, this one is worth trying.

Premier parfum Margiela

C’est mon premier parfum Margiela et j’ai été un peu déçue. Je l’ai acheté de façon précipitée mais j’aurai du le tester avant de dépenser une telle somme dessus. Ça reste un bon parfum vanillé mais il ne sent bon qu’après quelques heures.

Found my signature scent after 25 years!

I've been a vanilla fan since I was 13...I'm 38 now. I'd say I've spent the last 25 years searching for a vanilla gourmand that doesn't smell cheap, typical or wear off quickly. I'm thrilled to say I'VE FOUND IT! As a baker, I love a good Madeleine and the smell of a high-quality vanilla bean pod. This smells like a classic french treat in the sense that it isn't overly sweet like western confections can be - it's subdued and perfect for not offending anyone with smelling like some sort of candy. It's warm, cozy, and I will be wearing this for years to come and for as long as Maison Margiela continues to make this gorgeous fragrance. My husband came home from work and said, "what's that smell, it's amazing, did you spray something?" I let him smell my wrists and his response was, "you better have bought that one!". It's a timeless and yummy, cozy fragrance. Wrap yourself in a sweater with a few spritzes of this and you'll feel like the epitome of a cozy cafe afternoon.

Smells like vanilla cupcake

This is so gorgeous! It’s simple and minimalist yet elevated and chic. Literally just madeleine cookies, vanilla, milk and sandalwood. I think the sandalwood is what makes it. If you love gourmand fragrances, don't miss out on this perfume. You'll smell like a walking vanilla cupcake.
