Nice Foundation Brush, Could Use Better Labeling

I really enjoyed how soft the bristles of the MAC 170S are and how smooth my foundation looked. It doesn’t leave streak marks that I sometimes experience with other foundation brushes. While I haven’t washed mine yet, the bristles seem sturdy; I didn’t experience any shedding even while tugging on some of them. I will say that I’m not a fan of how MAC cosmetics labels their brushes with model numbers only; I would rather it have some indentation indicating that it’s a foundation brush. I don’t like taking the time to figure out or googling up what the brush is for, so it would be a lot more helpful if they would just label their brush with the purpose they’re used for. New favorite brush

I’ve tried a lot of foundation brushes and this one instantly became a favorite. The angled shape hugs the contours of the face beautifully, especially around the nose and under the eyes, which makes blending liquid foundation effortless. The bristles are dense but still soft, so it buffs product into the skin without leaving streaks or soaking up too much foundation. What I love most is how skin like the finish looks. It really presses foundation into the skin rather than just moving it around, which gives that smooth, seamless look. I’ve used it with both medium coverage and more lightweight foundations and it works beautifully with both. If you like a natural polished complexion and want a brush that blends quickly without patchiness, this one is absolutely worth it. It has quickly become one of the most used brushes in my routine. So good I've got two!

So good, I bought two of them… I've been using this MAC 170 Slanted, Synthetic Foundation Brush for roughly 10 years, shortly after they were released, I believe. Unfortunately, MAC redesigned all their brushes with synthetic bristle fibers. I honestly wish they wouldn’t have, yet MAC still has some of the best makeup tool designs in shapes, sizes, textures, and densities. Most performed much better when made with natural hair, in particular their 110 Eye Blending Brush. Nonetheless, I've had zero issues with excessive shedding nor falling apart with this 170 Foundation Brush. I've washed the two I bought many, many times, using both very warm water and a solid brush wash soap cake as well as instant brush makeup remover, ie. Cinema Secrets without any destruction. This brush blends all liquid, cream and powder cosmetics beautifully. Can apply and blend out shades lightly or with a lot of depth, depending on what one is looking for. The size is perfect for the whole face or just smaller, tighter areas around the nose, eyes, ears, and hairline leaving a soft blend while getting into crevices without depositing too much product. I feel it works well for several uses, hence buying a second one. It’s worth the price.

Multi use brush

I used this brush for all over foundation, concealer under my eyes and for contouring with a cream bronzer. The brush itself is very dense and it picked up product nicely and spread it on my skin without absorbing the product into the brush. It’s really worth the money too because of how versatile it is.
