decent but unexceptional boutique fragrance
It reminds me distinctly of certain rather high-end, sort of artsy, but definitely not designer boutiques I've visited in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The opening note when first sprayed is an unexpectedly brilliant burst of grapefruit, but that almost immediately dissipates into a more generalized citrus scent underlaid by an indistinguishable, perfume-y floral. I get hayfever-like allergies to many floral perfumes, and while Sunflower Pop definitely isn't as bad as others, I did still get a bit of that itchy eye feeling due to the floral undertones. Besides that pop of grapefruit the scent doesn't evolve a whole lot. It isn't exactly unpleasant, but nor is it as complex or -- for lack of a better word -- expensive-smelling as the perfumes I favor. It's mid-way between a Bath and Body Works body spray and an actual designer perfume. I was hoping for that sunshine-in-a-bottle scent for summer but this isn't it for me, unfortunately. Longevity and projection weren't great but not surprising for an EDT; it sat pretty close to my skin, but was detectable when up close after several hours.

Normally i don’t go for floral scents but Van Gogh is my favorite so i had to get this! I was so happy to find it didn’t have an “old lady” floral scent. it smells like sunshine and although it has a citrus burst in the beginning, it fades down quickly to a sweet honey skin smell that i love! i wish it lasted a bit longer but honestly it’s so good i don’t mind reapplying. HIGHLY recommend for any van gogh enthusiast:)
